Well-Situated _ Digital Stone Project Art Residency
I designed “Well-Suited”, a sculpture within the principles of continuous topology and multi-resolution. Collaborated with technicians to prepare the digital file for rough toolpath robotic milling. Handcrafted final details and finishing touches in mountains of Tuscany, ensuring a perfect blend of technological precision and artisanal craftsmanship.

This project explores the integration of multiple geometric resolutions through a combination of tool-path-based design. The aesthetic qualities of the digital form emerge from procedural modeling and algorithmic generation, shaping both its structure and visual language. The narrative driving this concept is informed by the constraints of robotic motion, as well as the inherent limitations of both the tool and the craft. By leveraging robotic fabrication as both a design methodology and a fabrication process, this approach seeks to merge digital precision with material expressiveness.
Within this framework, I aim to synthesize these elements to generate volumetric geometries that seamlessly align with their topological context. Guided by a set of technical principles, topological curves will serve as sculptural guidelines, defining the textural articulation of the final form.

Well-Suited was displayed in TECHNO_lithic exhibition in the city of Barga, Italy, featured as the cover page.
